How we handle your data

This covers what happens on this website, and what happens if you get a cold email from us about our lead-generation service.

Last updated: 10 September 2026

1. Who we are

This site and the outreach described below are run by Overtide Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17449595. Registered office: 24 The Parliament, Chesham Road, Amersham, HP6 5EX. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

For anything about your data — a question, a correction, or to be removed — email rufus@overtide.co.uk. We'll update this page whenever what we do changes.

2. This website

We don't run analytics and we don't set our own cookies. Two third parties are involved in the page you're reading:

  • Google Fonts — the site's typefaces load from Google's servers, so Google may log the request (including your IP address).
  • Calendly — if you use "Book a call", Calendly processes your name, email and anything you type, on our behalf, to set up the call. See Calendly's privacy policy.

Calendly is also the only thing on this site that sets a cookie, so it's gated behind the cookie banner you'll see on your first visit. We don't load it until you accept — decline and the "Book a call" button still works, it just offers our email address instead of the in-page scheduler. You can change your answer any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Our host (Netlify) keeps standard server logs. That's it — we don't build a profile of you from visiting the site. Separate to how we handle your data, our website terms cover use of the site itself.

3. If you get a cold email from us

If you've had an email from us about our done-for-you lead-generation service, this section explains where we got your details and what your options are. It's the disclosure required by UK GDPR Article 14 when a business is contacted using data it didn't provide directly.

What we hold

Your name, job title, work email address, the name of the company you work for, its public website and company information, and the one public detail about your company we used to write to you — along with a link to where we found it. We hold no special-category data; if a data source ever returns any, we discard it.

Where we got it

From a commercial B2B data provider (Apollo) and from your company's own public web presence. We check every record ourselves before we contact anyone.

Why we're using it

To reach the person who decides on marketing at businesses that may want help winning new clients — that is, our own client acquisition for a lawful commercial service.

The legal basis

Legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We keep a written legitimate-interests assessment on file and will share a summary on request. Every message — the first and any follow-up — identifies Overtide Ltd and carries a working, one-line opt-out. For recipients outside the UK we follow the local B2B rules (US CAN-SPAM, Ireland's ePrivacy regulations, and inferred-consent rules in Australia and New Zealand), which come down to the same thing: identify ourselves, and give an easy way to stop.

Who we share it with

Only the providers that send and manage the email on our behalf (our sending platform and email-infrastructure suppliers), acting as our processors. We don't sell your data and we don't share it for anything else.

How long we keep it

If you don't reply, your record is deleted or fully anonymised within 12 months of our last email. If you opt out, we keep the minimum needed — your email address and its domain — on a suppression list indefinitely, precisely so we never contact you again.

Your choices

Reply "no" to any email, or email us, and we stop immediately and permanently. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) or your local regulator. We don't do any automated decision-making or profiling. We only contact businesses in the UK, Ireland, the US, Australia and New Zealand.

4. When we run outreach for a client

When a business hires us to run its cold-email campaign, that business is the data controller for its own target list and we act on its instructions under a separate contract. This notice covers our own outreach, not campaigns we run for clients.

5. Changes and contact

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Questions or requests: rufus@overtide.co.uk. You can also contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.
